How it works

From booking
to payment.

Your customer books a car, pays through PayPal and returns to your website. The payment stays linked to their booking.

  1. Step 1 / Book

    Choose a car.

Your customer selects a car and rental dates, fills in their details and chooses PayPal. CarRentory works out the full price.

  2. Step 2 / Pay

    Pay through PayPal.

They continue to PayPal to check the amount and pay. PayPal shows the payment options available to that customer.

  3. Step 3 / Manage

    Manage the booking.

After the payment is verified, you can see it in the booking in WordPress. You choose whether paid bookings are confirmed automatically.

Payments made clearer

Less admin.
More clarity.

Keep rental details, payments and refunds together. Open a booking to see what has been paid and what still needs your attention.

See the payment and refund guide

Charge the right booking total.

PayPal uses the full rental price worked out by CarRentory. If you use Pro pricing features, these are included in the same total.

See what has been paid.

See payments, refunds and the amount collected before PayPal fees. Refunds that are still being processed are shown separately.

Give a full or partial refund.

Open the booking and return the full refundable amount or a smaller amount. Follow the refund status in WordPress. Refunding and cancelling a booking are separate actions.

Choose when to confirm bookings.

Confirm bookings yourself, or let the add-on confirm them after the full payment is verified. A paid booking can stay Pending until you review it.

Try it without real money.

Use PayPal’s test mode, called Sandbox, to try the booking process without charging anyone. Connect your separate Live settings when you are ready to take real payments.

Use words your customers understand.

Choose the PayPal name and short description shown on your booking form. You can use different wording for each language on your website.

Inside the add-on

A look inside
the add-on.

Three tabs keep the settings organised: General, Connection and Customer messages.

The General tab shows the payment status and main settings. Payments and automatic confirmation are switched off in this example.

Before you buy

Questions?
Clear answers.

Do I need CarRentory Pro?

No. You need the free CarRentory plugin, version 1.1.0 or later. Pro is optional, and WooCommerce is not needed. The PayPal add-on is paid and requires its own license.

Is this included with CarRentory Pro?

No. CarRentory PayPal is sold separately and needs its own license. A Pro license does not activate it.

Where do customers pay?

They leave your booking form and pay on PayPal, then return to your website. Your form does not collect PayPal passwords or card numbers. PayPal decides which payment options each customer can use, so paying by card without a PayPal account is not always available.

Can I test it without charging anyone?

Yes. Sandbox is PayPal’s test mode and does not move real money. Use a separate Personal Sandbox account as the test customer. Real payments require a separate Live connection, with its own app, connection details and payment notifications.

What if I need to refund a customer?

You can return the full refundable amount or part of it from the booking in WordPress. Check the status: Pending means the refund is not finished. A refund does not cancel the booking, and cancelling a booking does not return the money automatically.

Will a paid booking be confirmed automatically?

Only if you switch on automatic confirmation. The full payment must be verified first. If this setting is off, the payment can show Paid while the booking stays Pending for you to review.

Can customers pay a deposit or in instalments?

No. Version 1.0.0 collects the full booking amount. It does not include deposits, security holds, instalments, subscriptions or saved payment methods.

Which currency will customers pay in?

The add-on uses the currency you set in CarRentory and the total for that booking. Your selected currency must also be supported by PayPal.
